Tomato Patch Visual and Performing Arts Workshops

Tomato Patch Visual and Performing Arts Workshops, held annually on the West Windsor Campus of Mercer County Community College, is one of the longest-running and most successful multi-disciplinary summer arts programs in central New Jersey. Since 1973, over 7,000 junior and senior high school students have spent several weeks of their summer exploring the visual arts, dance, theater, and vocal music under the guidance of a highly qualified staff of teaching professional artists. Students select a major concentration in either the theater, dance, vocal music, visual arts, and spend two morning classes in these areas. After lunch, they are free to choose electives in other areas. Afternoon course offerings for 2018 may include children's theatre, "Who's line is it anyhow?", painting, drawing, jazz dance, musical theatre, children's theater, a cappella singing, hip hop, vocal ensemble, comedy, music video and web video.

A 5- week comprehensive remedial reading program is designed to increase student's individual skills. 7-13 year olds with reading levels between 1st and 4th grade are eligible. Highly trained teachers provide an interactive, fun environment for students to increase their reading skills, phonemic awareness, strategy-based spelling instruction and oral reading to promote accuracy and fluency. Spend your summer days riding on the beautiful 240-acre George School campus. Learn how to improve your riding and horsemanship skills. With beginner to advanced level horses, our camp includes flatwork, jumping, trail riding, and a weekly show. Our certified instructors emphasize safety and riding enjoyment for campers ages 8 to 14! Enjoy a different field trip or activity every Thursday and every Friday participate in a horse camp show case. We design our classes to be creative and hands-on. Kids design video games, build robots, tinker with the engineering of gadgets, conduct experiments and make films. We believe kids learn best by doing. There are over sixty classes to choose from in STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.

International Ivy serves children between the ages 5 and 14. All classes are weekly, Monday to Friday, so students can enroll for one week or multiple weeks.     This year we're bringing back 3 two-week sessions, June 25 through August 3. Parents of children ages 4-12 may enroll online through the website starting January 31; enroll by April 30 and save 10%!All campers explore, create, and dream amidst 20 acres of fields, forests, gardens, and creek; common activities include water play, food preparation, painting, and cooperative games with their groups.
