The language immersion summer program is designed to give children entering Grades 1 thru 6 a chance to improve or learn French. Students are grouped according to both grade level and language proficiency. Each week session has a special theme; students will acquire language skills and cultural elements through various activities in a friendly and stimulating environment. All our teachers are French native speakers. Open to all, from non-French speaking to advanced students.
June 22 - June 26: Castles of France: Students will dive into French history and culture by discovering the most famous French castles: learning about life in a castle, creating various models and acquiring the vocabulary to speak about this amazing tour of France.
June 29 - July 3: Inspired by Nature: Students will participate in arts and crafts activities inspired by Nature and focus on their creativity to create a birdhouse, papier-mâché objects, paintings on wood, mobiles, etc.

Campers gain a level of competency in the language as they interact daily with native Chinese speakers who have a comprehensive understanding of incorporating science, technology, engineering, art and math in a fun way - theatre production, too!
2021 YHIS-STARTALK Chinese Immersion is a FREE 3 week Chinese Immersion experience with fun learning not only the language but also the culture itself. This program is for incoming 3rd to 11th grade learners with or without prior Chinese knowledge. Learners will be grouped according to their Chinese proficiency level so even the beginners are welcome.

Photo Day Camp for Teens - From Beginner to Advanced in One Week
July 10-14, 2023 • July 31-August 4, 2023, 10:00am - 3:00pm Watch Your Teen Become an Amazing Photographer! What they'll learn: • how to get the most out of their digital camera • the basics of lighting and composition • a different hands-on photography experience every day • daily hands-on learning with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to download and organize their photos and create art • photo reviews and discussions. PRD Day camp is an outdoor camp that takes place at the Community Park South Complex. This includes Community Park Pool, Community Park South Fields, Community Park playgrounds and basketball courts, and Community Park North. The camp day is filled with activities such as games, sports, arts & crafts, trips to the playground, and nature walks. The camp day may also include special performances like magic, science, and animal shows. Campers come to the pool at noon each day for lunch and swimming. During inclement weather, the camp typically moves indoors to Community Park Elementary School.
