Chapin School Announces New Board of Trustees President
PRINCETON, NJ — Chapin School announces the election of Theodore “Ted” S. Golfinopoulos ‘80, P ’17, P ’21 as President of its Board of Trustees. An alumnus of the Class of 1980 and the parent of two Chapin graduates, Golfinopoulos brings a generational connection to the school and decades of professional accomplishment to the role.
“In the fall of 1976, I walked through the Farmhouse doors at Chapin, and in many ways, have never left. From academics, arts to athletics, Chapin gave me the platform to find my strengths, goals and passions. Most importantly, I made lifelong friendships which could only be made at a family community like Chapin. My children were able to experience the same caring and nurturing environment that I did many years before. In fact, they were taught by some of the same teachers. I am deeply honored to be elected Board President and to collaborate with such a special group of individuals as Chapin grows academically in the 21st century, without losing any of the core values that have made Chapin so uniquely special for generations.”

A lifelong real estate professional, Golfinopoulos has spent more than 30 years developing, owning, and managing properties across New Jersey, including recognition from the City of Trenton with its Landmark Commission Preservation Award. He is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management and has held a New Jersey real estate license since 1989.
Golfinopoulos will be joined on the Executive Committee by Pooja Kothari Datta (Vice President), Ajay Choudhri (Treasurer), and Kari Hart (Secretary). Kothari Datta and Hart are current Chapin parents; Choudhri, a past parent, brings the same long-term commitment to the school that has defined his family’s connection to Chapin. Each brings professional expertise and personal investment to their role.
“Ted’s connection to Chapin is one of our great stories,” said Head of School Steven C. Bristol. “As an alumnus and a parent, he brings a perspective that is rare and valuable, and I look forward to working closely with him and the full Executive Committee as we continue to build on the strong foundation we have established together.”
Chapin School’s Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance and long-term stewardship of the institution, including fiduciary oversight, strategic planning, and the recruitment and support of school leadership. The Board’s commitment to Chapin’s mission, as well as to the students and families it serves, is foundational to everything the school does.
