Aug. 11 - "Forrest Gump" (1994, PG-13, 2 hours, 22 minutes): Adapted from the novel by Winston Groom, this film follows an Alabama man whose extraordinary life intersects with many of the defining events of the second half of the 20th century as he pursues love, friendship, and personal fulfillment.

Experience six films adapted from beloved books in this celebration of classic cinema and great literature. The films in this series were selected through a vote of library staff, who chose their favorite book-to-film adaptations released before 1995. Join us to explore the enduring connection between the written word and the silver screen through stories that have captivated generations.
