Summer Film Series: From Page to Screen, Princeton Public Library
Aug. 4 - "My Fair Lady" (1964, NR, 2 hours and 50 minutes): Based on "Pygmalion," the play by George Bernard Shaw, this film follows a phonetics professor who wagers that he can transform a working-class flower seller into a woman capable of passing as a member of high society. The film won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Rex Harrison. Experience six films adapted from beloved books in this celebration of classic cinema and great literature. The films in this series were selected through a vote of library staff, who chose their favorite book-to-film adaptations released before 1995.
