Foraging as Mindfulness, The Watershed Institute
Welcome spring and connect with our foraging roots on this delicious hike in search of wild edible plants. Inspired by the tales of pioneers and Euell Gibbons’ Stalking the Wild Asparagus, naturalist Jeff Hoagland has been enjoying wild edible plants for over 50 years. We will explore the fields and forest of the Watershed Reserve discovering a wealth of edible plants representing the traditions of our European roots and Native America. Learn to identify and enjoy a variety of wild edible plants as a rite of spring. Our samplings will include native and non-native species and may include cattail, garlic mustard, violets, winter cress, ramps, spring beauty, wild ginger and much, much more. Annual Plant Sale, Grounds for Sculpture
Now in its seventh year, From Our Grounds to Yours, Grounds For Sculpture’s annual plant sale, will feature a unique selection of annuals, perennials, and shrubs, as well as a variety of GFS propagated trees, houseplants, and succulent gardens. Our Director of Horticulture, Horticulture staff and volunteers will be on hand during the sale to answer questions and share garden-planning advice. All proceeds support GFS’s Horticulture department. This event is rain or shine and held indoors in the East Gallery. Don’t forget to bring your wagon! We will feature a demonstration on spring containers by the Horticulture staff at 11:30AM and 2PM. The plant sale takes place on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3.

Kite Day @Terhune's
ite Day is a perfect time to explore the farm during our spring festival - Saturday, May 2 & Sunday, May 3 - 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Spring on the farm is one of the most beautiful and exciting seasons. All is ready for the bountiful growing season. Bring your own kite or choose a ready-made kite from the wide selection in the store. Or better yet, make a “guaranteed to fly” kite. Whichever you choose, test fly your kite in our wide-open 10-acre pasture with all the farm animals looking on. The farm will ring with country music and entertainment all weekend. The sheep will be shorn on Sunday and the children can take home a piece of real fleece. On Sunday Princeton Morris Dancers will perform traditional May Day dances. Enjoy live music 1-4 pm each day.

Princeton Pottery Festival
The Princeton Pottery Festival is set to take place on May 2nd and 3rd, 2026, at the renowned Princeton Day School, celebrating the art of ceramics with a curated collection of works from 12 exceptional artists. Held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on both days, the festival will feature some of the finest ceramic talent from the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. Participating artists include Eric Rempe, Dallas Wooten, Taylor Sijan, Lindsay Oesterritter, Lisa Naples, Brian Chen, Terry Plaskett, Hiroe Hanazono, Nate Willever, Sam Briegel, Kristen Kieffer, and Ben Carter The Princeton Pottery Festival will be held at the Princeton Day School arts atrium, a stunning and easily accessible venue, providing an ideal backdrop for the festival. The event is free and open to the public, with all pottery on display available for purchase. In addition to the ceramics on display four artists will be demonstrating their techniques. Renowned artist and educator Chris Staley will also be giving a free lecture on the importance of the ceramic object in today's society Saturday May 2nd at 4:30 pm.
