Vegetables

Read & Pick is an innovative program that combines hands-on farm activity with your young child followed by an education program with stories highlighting the fruit or farm area. For this program, young farmers are welcome to celebrate everything wonderful about vegetables.  See how one of our amazing first spring crops grows! We will be reading the books about vegetables followed by an educational component. Then everyone will pick his or her own small container of asparagus.   Our farm staff will explain how vegetables grow and how they should be picked. The cost is $12.00 per child and includes the container of asparagus. 

There are two sessions on Tuesdays at 9:30 am and 11 am, lasting about one hour. Online pre-purchase of tickets is required.

Highlighting and Exploring "Requiem for Robert F. Kennedy", Princeton Public Library

Princeton Pro Musica presents a discussion in the library’s community room of “Requiem for Robert F. Kennedy,” a piece composed by Frank Lewin in 1969, ahead of its May 9 live performance. Lewin was a longtime resident of Princeton. Two of Lewin’s daughters, Naomi and Miriam Lewin, will join Ryan Brandau, artistic director of Princeton Pro Musica, in a discussion about the inspiration and history of this piece. The Requiem was premiered at the memorial service for Kennedy on May 27, 1969 in the Princeton University Chapel. Princeton Pro Musica will perform the Requiem for the second time in the Chapel on Saturday, May 9, at 4 pm.
