Princeton Comic Makers presents: JERSEY ART MEETUPS (JAM), a weekly social event connecting creatives within the greater Central Jersey area through a shared passion for sequential art and new media. Attendees may use this open workshop space to draw, write, and develop their own artwork, with an opportunity to receive peer review and feedback from other members if desired. Illustrators, animators, writers, and generalists are all welcome to join and discuss their art and career goals, share learning resources, promote current projects, or find friends and collaborators. For the past 30 years, Café Improv has connected beginning and professional performers in the Arts Council of Princeton’s Solley Theater. Serving as a vibrant musical oasis for the Princeton community, Café Improv is a gathering place to share artistic ideas and provide inspiration to others. Community members read an amended version of Frederick Douglass’ influential speech, given on July 5, 1852, in Rochester, New York, to the Rochester Ladies Anti-Slavery Society. ART OF Papermaking

From plant to paper, the Art of Papermaking explores the history and structure of Western papermaking processes. Told through hands-on techniques of sheet-pulling and wet-process college, the story of papermaking encompasses cultural histories, artistic traditions and artists own personal visions. With ties close to printmaking, painting, drawing and collage, fine handmade papers -in their many forms- speak to artists across diverse backgrounds. Save your space.
ACP BYOB: Illustrated Recipes

Meals just taste better when you know they’re made with love, and what better way to pass down a recipe than with an illustrated recipe card? Meet us in the studio to hand-embellish your favorite recipe with charming illustrations and hand-lettered instructions, sure to become a family heirloom! During this beginner-friendly workshop, artist Lisa Walsh will provide an introduction to watercolors and lettering pens. All materials are provided. Dr. Columbus Batiste will explore the Seven Key Pillars of Heart Health—spirituality, exercise, love, food, intimacy, sleep, and humor—and their role in community and individual well-being. Dr. Natalie Mitchem, RDN and Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional and Karina Pearse, MS will underscore the impact of food on Brain Health, followed by cooking demonstrations and a food tasting featuring easy recipes for wellness, disease prevention, and recovery.
