Titanic, Kelsey Theater, Mercer Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, 609-570-3333. Set on the ocean liner RMS Titanic, which sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912, the haunting story of the great ship Titanic is transformed into a riveting musical that examines the lives of its passengers in the nights leading up to the ship's fateful encounter with an iceberg. Not to be confused with the blockbuster film, this epic musical follows characters named for actual cast and crew members (unconnected with the tale of Jack and Rose of movie fame.) Playful Theatre Productions will win your heart with compelling characters and moving personal stories, but the uniqueness of TITANIC is that the central character in the drama is the great ship herself. The evening will feature entertainment by Pennington-resident and accomplished soprano Elizabeth Sutton — she'll be telling captivating stories and performing piano-accompanied songs celebrating the collective relief that spring is finally here. Sutton is a Professor of Voice at Westminster Choir College and Pennington resident. We've partnered with Hopewell Borough's The Brothers Moon, for a cuisine meets art installation experience! Innovatively crafted and unconventionally served inspired bites will play up the fun and decorative side of spring in a creative, interactive, and delicious experience. Beer and wine will be served, as well as the signature drink, "The Bees Knees," a springtime favorite. Plus, you'll have first-dibs and VIP access to join us for more art and culture related upcoming events with the Arts Council's "party and experience boards," like cooking demonstrations and exclusive art tours. Tickets are $125 general admission and $110 for HV Arts Council members. Proceeds help support and promote the arts in the greater Hopewell Valley!
