Fall Date Night Ideas in Central Jersey
Fall is one of the most romantic times of the year. To start, it’s beautiful to see the leaves changing while taking a stroll along the canal and there are so many goodies that come with the changing season! Not to mention the Halloween candy, but my personal favorites are hot cider and apple cider donuts! And we are never opposed to cozy bonfires at the house on a chilly night. However, we are encouraging you to get up and go out this fall! There are tons of things to do so close to home that will make this season a very memorable one for you and your very special someone. So take a look at these events and take advantage of what New Jersey has to offer. In preparation for Halloween, you’ll find that our suggestions get spookier as you move down the list.
Hint hint, for our wine lovers out there, plenty of these might be right up your alley!

Enjoy Jersey’s finest wine selection, crafted by a true Italian family and using the freshest ingredients that the garden state has to offer. You can even take a tour of the barrel room where the magic happens. Enjoy live music and their famous brick oven pizza every Friday and Saturday night through December. It makes for a great evening out with a group of friends or a romantic night out for two!
Fall Laurita Food Trucks
Laurita Winery
35 Archertown Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533
Saturday, October 17 & Sunday, October 18
If you have never been to a food truck festival before, then you need to clear your schedule for next weekend. The best food trucks from around New Jersey assemble at the Laurita Winery for possibly the yummiest assortment of food you could imagine. Sip on some wine as you stroll from truck to truck, listen to live music and watch their firework show on Saturday night. Some of the participating food truck vendors include Falafull Food Truck, Empanada Guy, Red Hook Lobster Pound Truck, Fork in the Road, Waffle de Lys and House of Cupcakes. And that is just a handful of them!
Zombie Wine Run
Old York Cellars Winery
80 Old York Road, Ringoes, NJ 08551
Saturday, October 17
I bet this is something you won’t see everywhere. Get in some exercise before you binge on Halloween candy and run two miles while dressed as a zombie. There will be spooky music and surprises that just might scare you to death. Again. Oh, and in case you haven’t caught on by now, there’s wine here too. What could be more fun? Get creative with your zombie costume because there will be prizes for the best dressed!
All Hallows’ Eve Open House
Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms
2352 Route 10 West, Morris Plains, NJ 07959
Saturday, October 31 5:30pm-8:30pm
Leave a bowl of candy outside for your trick-or-treaters and spend your Halloween at this exclusive 1913 style party. You will be transported back in time and see how this holiday was celebrated over a hundred years ago. Between playing parlor games, getting your fortune read and being spooked from hearing stories of the past, you and your date will lose yourselves in laughter and joy on this unforgettable evening. Remember to dress up and you will be given a playful mask upon entrance.
Brighton Asylum
2 Brighton Avenue, Passaic, NJ 07055
Thursdays-Sundays throughout October
Be prepared to immerse yourself in a true horror movie. It really might be the scariest place on Earth. With Hollywood style set, scary realistic costumes, eerie special effects and four different attractions to choose from, this interactive haunted house was voted one of the best in the country. In the 1940s, this warehouse was used to house mentally and psychologically unstable and insane patients. There were reports of disappearances, illegal medical experiments and bloodcurdling screams coming out of this warehouse. You’ve got to check out this one of a kind asylum. Come on, what would Halloween be without a little spook?
