Events to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of 18th century English novelist Jane Austen are planned at Princeton Public Library. Film adaptations of some of the literary icon’s most known works are planned along with a musical performance and author talk.
“Jane Austen gave us unforgettable characters and timeless social commentary, said adult programming manager Janie Hermann. “A milestone like her 250th birthday deserves to be recognized so, in addition to a book display, we have created a series of events that invite everyone—readers, film lovers, music fans—to connect with her legacy. Each program offers a different doorway into her stories and the time in which she wrote.”
