Small World Coffee presents Cats on Witherspoon, the fourth solo exhibition by local artist Minako Ota, known for her whimsical yet contemplative paintings of animals.
This holiday season, Ota brings together 34 cat paintings created over the past decade — an affectionate tribute to cats and cat lovers alike. The exhibition traces the artistic evolution of her style, from delicate early works to more playful and expressive recent pieces.

Having studied traditional Japanese painting and worked for twenty years in Western painting conservation, Ota's art harmonizes these two worlds. Her works combine refined Japanese aesthetics with the techniques and textures of Western media, creating a unique visual language.

Join us for the opening reception on December 5, from 6–8 PM, where you can meet the artist and enjoy an evening of art, conversation, and coffee in Princeton's beloved café.
