Art Making Day 2017 Returns to Trenton April 29 and May 6
TRENTON, NJ – March 31, 2017 – On April 29th and May 6th the notion that the pleasure of art making is confined to trained artists and professionals will be upended as artists of all ages, cultures, backgrounds and family structures are welcomed by Artworks to fully immerse themselves in the delightful act of making art and revel in the sheer beauty of self-expression at Art Making Day. For toddlers, grandparents, and everyone in between, Art Making Day is a FREE event that promotes the notion that entire communities can be connected and uplifted through various forms of creative expression.
Hundreds of children and adults are expected to attend Art Making Day and explore the assorted "art stations" set up throughout Artworks' headquarters building and three other partner organization spaces over two weekends. Activities range from mural painting and collage to bike tire prints and recycled fiber projects. Guests are encouraged to submit their creations to the annual Art All Night festival occurring June 17th & 18th at the Roebling Machine Shop in Trenton, NJ.
Artworks is thrilled to be partnering on Art Making Day this year with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County, the New Jersey State Museum, and our newest partner Galeria Casa Cultura, Trenton's Latino and Latina cultural center. In addition to these partners, Artworks has also received support for Art Making Day 2017 from the I Am Trenton Community Foundation, Jerry's Artarama of Lawrenceville, and Kelly and Ray Ingram.
