CMAP Announces Spring 2026 Evergreen Forum Courses and January Open House

Princeton, NJ The Center for Modern Aging Princeton (CMAP) is pleased to announce the Spring 2026 Evergreen Forum, continuing the celebration of twenty-five years of accessible, engaging lifelong learning for older adults. The upcoming semester features a diverse lineup of in-person, virtual, and hybrid courses designed to foster intellectual curiosity, meaningful dialogue, and community connection.

To kick off the spring semester, CMAP will host the Evergreen Forum Spring 2026 Open House on Thursday, January 15, from noon to 4:00 p.m. The Open House will be held in a hybrid format, both in person at CMAP’s Suzanne Patterson Building and online via Zoom. This free event offers prospective participants the opportunity to meet spring semester course leaders, learn about course content in advance of registration, and attend special one-hour sample lectures that provide a preview of the Evergreen Forum experience. Light refreshments will be served, and all attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a free Evergreen Forum class for the Spring 2026 semester. Registration is required; there is no fee to attend. Additional information and registration are available at

https://engage.cmaprinceton.org/component/events/event/1556.

Registration for Spring 2026 Evergreen Forum courses opens Tuesday, January 27, at 9:30 a.m., on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants may initially select up to two courses. Telephone and mail applications will not be accepted. To register, visit https://cmaprinceton.org.

This spring’s offerings span literature, history, science, art, technology, religion, and personal well-being. Three featured courses include:

Decoding AI — This accessible hybrid course introduces participants to artificial intelligence, exploring what AI can and cannot do, how it shapes daily life, and how to use it responsibly. Led by IT professional Mike Castaneda, the course emphasizes practical skills, ethical considerations, and personal data protection, with no prior technical experience required.

Building Bridges: Religious Literacy for Cocktail Parties — Taught by Dr. Drew A. Dyson, CEO of CMAP, this hybrid course offers an engaging introduction to major world religions, their core beliefs, practices, and cultural contexts. Participants will develop intercultural understanding and confidence in navigating conversations about religion in today’s diverse society.

Democracy and Rule of Law: From Nixon to Trump — Led by historian Stanley N. Katz, PhD, former Princeton University professor, this hybrid course examines challenges to democracy and constitutional governance in the United States from the late 1960s to the present, encouraging thoughtful analysis of pivotal political moments and their lasting implications.

Course Fees: $95 for three- to four-week courses and $125 for five- to eight-week courses. Scholarships are available for those for whom the fee is a hardship — cost should never be a barrier to learning.

CMAP, the Center for Modern Aging Princeton (formerly Princeton Senior Resource Center), is a community nonprofit where aging adults and their families find support, guidance, education, and social programs to help them navigate life transitions and remain active, healthy, and engaged.
