Presented by: Samantha Townsend, M.S. CCC-SLP, C-SLDI  - Speech-Language Pathologist

Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) is a communication disorder that affects a child's ability to learn, understand, and use language, often creating challenges in academic settings—especially in reading comprehension. This session will provide an overview of DLD, exploring how it differs from dyslexia and why its impact on literacy is unique. We will discuss the ways DLD affects students' ability to process and retain language, the specific challenges it presents in reading comprehension, and strategies educators can use to support students with DLD in the classroom. For admission to this presentation, registration is required by Friday, September 26, 2025 To register, please use the following link: Topics and Trends in Education - October 1, 2025
