Hopewell Branch 245 Pennington-Titusville Road Pennington, NJ 08534 609-737-2610 Discover American history through the daily lives of four women: Anne “Nancy” Hume Shippen Livingston, Rebecca Lloyd Nicholson, Margaret Bayard Smith, and Anna Maria Brodeau Thornton. You'll access the Library of Congress' By The People campaign to transcribe letters, diaries, commonplace books, and other papers. These elite women recorded first-hand experiences of the new political landscape caused by the American Revolution and the foundation of the new American republic, all while their lives remained circumscribed by the prevailing social order. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop; a limited number are available on site. Registration is requested.
