Talk of the Sourlands: Ghosts of the Taiga, The Watershed Institute
31 Titus Mill Road, Pennington. thewatershed.org. Presented by Tyler Christensen, research coordinator for Wild Bird Research Group. Owls are among the most cryptic and understudied birds worldwide. Many owls found in our area are seasonal visitors from the far north, quietly passing through or overwintering in our landscapes. Despite widespread fascination with owls, we still know surprisingly little about their movements and ecological needs. This talk will explore new local research that is uncovering the long-distance migrations and conservation needs of these elusive nocturnal predators. Register via EventBrite. Free.
