7/2 - The Crossing, Passage Theatre, 7pm.
The Crossing is a sweeping new American musical reimagining George Washington’s Crossing of the Delaware through the diverse, often overlooked voices of the Continental Army. 7/3 - America Celebrates 250th Celebration Kickoff, 1-9:30pm
On Friday, July 3rd, experience 10 different performances and educational events on platform stages from both sides of the Delaware River. Actors portraying patriots from the Revolution will be discussing their role in the country's founding in addition to music and dance performances throughout the day. The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks display from two launch boats that will be complemented with 200 drones over the river with synced music through stadium speakers. 7/3 - 1776 Movie Screening at the Winery, Unionville Vineyards, 6:30pm. Kick off your Independence Day weekend by remembering where it all began. Join us on July 3rd for a special screening of 1776, the beloved musical that brings the founding of America to life. Doors open at 6:30PM and the movie begins at 7:00PM in our Barrel Building. Your ticket includes one glass of wine, one personal pizza from Antimo's Italian Kitchen, and a seat for the screening. Click here for more information

7/4 - Grand Reopening Celebration, Old Barracks Museum, 10am. Join the Old Barracks Museum as we celebrate July 4th and America’s 250th anniversary with our grand reopening. We are excited to welcome guests back to the museum and unveil the results of our year-long restoration. The official opening will be at 10:00 AM when we welcome local officials to help us swing open the gates. Visitors are invited to a preview of three new exhibits that highlight the site’s, as well as New Jersey’s, vital role in American history. We will also be displaying for the first time in decades George Washington’s Inaugural Flower Arch, the original historic arch that he passed under during his inaugural march through Trenton. The celebration will include a recreation of the arch, covered with hand-dyed wood flowers, each representing a donor. A group photo will be taken with the donors at 11:00 PM. The vocal duo “Liberty Tree” (Stacy Roth and Bob Dupre) will sing “Welcome Mighty Chief,” an ode written by Major Richard Howell to the tune of Handel’s “See the Conquering Hero Comes,” at 10:30 AM. Join us for a day filled with living history, celebration, and community as we honor our heritage and look to the future!

7/4 - July 4th Jubilee at Morven, 12-3pm. It’s the 250th anniversary of the Fourth of July! Come celebrate community, reflect on America’s past, and envision what’s next - all at the home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence and New Jersey’s first Governor’s mansion. Morven’s annual Fourth of July Festival is free and open to the public, featuring activities and artmaking with community partners; garden tours; music; food; a chance to sign the Declaration of Independence; and more. 7/4 - Independence Day Celebration @Washington Crossing Historic Park, 4-9:30pm.
Join us at Washington Crossing Historic Park for an evening of history, community celebration, live music, and fireworks over the Delaware River as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding! Please note: Admission is required; registration is recommended only for the 4–8 PM Living History Program. The evening concert and fireworks are free and open to the public; no registration is required to attend those portions of the event. Step into Revolutionary America as you explore a military encampment, watch living historians demonstrate traditional crafts, participate in children’s activities and experience musket and artillery firing demonstrations. Readings of the Declaration of Independence will take place throughout the evening. As the living history program concludes, visitors are invited to enjoy live music along the waterfront, including a special fife and drum performance. The celebration will conclude with a festive fireworks display over the Delaware River (weather permitting). Food trucks will be on site throughout the evening, offering food, snacks, and refreshments. The Friends of Washington Crossing Park will operate a concession stand serving hot dogs, chips, and beverages. All proceeds support educational programming at the park.

7/5 - The Healing Garden Workshop at Cherry Grove Farm, 11am.
Join Tish for a wander around Cherry Grove gardens to learn which familiar garden plants, (that you may have growing in your garden, or can easily plant) can be used for first aid and to heal common ailments. Sage, rosemary, thyme, yarrow, basil, roses, zinnias and more all have a multitude of medicinal uses. You can ease headaches, tummy aches, brain fog, sleep disturbances, depression, coughs, colds, flus and more with common herbs, flowers and weeds. After discussing the healing properties of the plants each participant will make their own individualised tincture with the plants they are drawn to, or the plants they need for a particular issue. You will take home your tincture to be strained and used in a few weeks.

7/8 - CASA Information Session, West Windsor Branch, 6:30-7:30pm. 333 North Post Road Princeton Junction, NJ 08550 609-799-0462. CASA is a network of volunteers assigned by a NJ Family Court Judge to provide advocacy services for children in the foster care system. CASA volunteers work with children's caregivers(e.g., foster parents, school, state case worker, etc.) to ensure these children are receiving all the services they require, and nothing is falling through the cracks. The purpose of this Information Session is to explain the role of a CASA volunteer, and to recruit additional volunteers for unassigned children in the foster care system.

7/8 - Summer Reading Soirée, "A Founding Mother: A Novel of Abigail Adams", Morven Museum & Garden, 6:30pm. The authors discuss and sign copies of "A Founding Mother: A Novel of Abigail Adams" at this annual gathering featuring refreshments, giveaways and more. Tickets are $20; proceeds benefit the library. A popular library tradition since 2016, the annual Summer Reading Soirée features sparkling beverages, sorbet, sweet treats, as well as door prizes and giveaways. Attendees have the opportunity to mingle with library staff and fellow book lovers, share favorite recent reads and discover new titles to add to their summer reading lists. The soirée also offers a chance to stroll through the beautiful grounds of Morven Museum & Garden. Tickets for this special event, held on the grounds of Morven Museum & Garden, are $20 and include a copy of "A Founding Mother." Tickets are limited to 125 attendees. 7/9 - Concert, Princeton Summer Chamber Concerts, 7:30pm, ARCOSTRUM (violin and guitar duo) - The ArcoStrum Experience merges Eastern and Western cultures. ArcoStrum seamlessly combines the evocative sound of traditional Chinese instruments like the erhu (Chinese two-string fiddle) and dizi (Chinese bamboo flute) with the virtuosity of classical violin, guitar and electric guitar/bass. With the energy of modern popular music, (with pieces by Vivaldi, Huang, Bill Withers, John Williams and “Michael Jackson meets Scarlatti”), its innovative program offers an immersive experience that promises to transcend boundaries and celebrate the evolution of music across cultures and generations. 7/10 - Beading Circle Basics, Grounds for Sculpture, 6 - 7:30pm. Join beadwork artist & community forester, Kesha Braunskill, for this two-part hands-on workshop to learn the basics of beading. Explore the cultural history of Indigenous beading practices and the traditional materials used in this ancient art form. 7/11 - Summer Fairy Festival @The Watershed Institute, 10-12:30pm. Fairies and friends gather together for some magical activities at The Watershed Institute. We will build fairy cottages using natural materials, create fun crafts, splash together as we play mermaid games, flutter around an obstacle course and more! 7/11 - "Made in the Shade" Children's Event, Marquand Park, 10-12pm.
Escape the summer heat and step into the shady woods of Marquand Park for "Made in the Shade," a fun-filled morning of nature-themed activities for children and families. Tucked under the canopy of one of Princeton's most treasured parks, "Made in the Shade" invites children to experience the magic of trees and forest life through hands-on games, crafts, and creative play. Activities include Tree Bingo, storytime, play dough leaf prints and more. Kids will receive a free coloring book that celebrates the diversity of trees in Marquand Park, as well as light snacks to enjoy in the shade. Whether they're matching leaves in Bingo or listening to forest stories under the branches, children will leave with a deeper appreciation of the park's living collection. This event is free and open to the public. Activities are best suited for children ages 3–10, but all are welcome. Marquand Park is located at 48 Lovers Lane, Princeton, NJ. 7/11 - Bastille Day Celebration, Alliance Francaise Princeton, 12-3pm. Enjoy a picnic lunch with your family and friends – we'll provide the food, drink and all the accoutrements!! • Converse in French (and English) • Play Pétanque (Boules) • Listen to French Music • Talk to our Board members for advice and tips for traveling to and visiting France. 7/12 - Ceramic Scavenger Hunt, Arts Council of Princeton, 1-3pm. This fan-favorite event is the most adventurous way to add to your collection of mugs, bowls, vases, and small sculptures, with more hidden pottery than ever before. Like, a lot more. Starting at 1pm, our team will hide handmade ceramic pieces around downtown Princeton and post clues to the Arts Council of Princeton Instagram stories (make sure to follow at @artscouncilofprinceton). 7/14 - Free Concert, SoPercussion, 7pm. This July, So Percussion's annual Summer Institute fills two weeks on the Princeton University campus — and spills out into town. From July 5–19, the So Percussion Summer Institute (SOSI) brings together emerging composers and percussionists from across the country for an intensive residency with the members of So Percussion and guest faculty. Throughout those two weeks, participants perform a series of concerts at venues across Princeton, all free and open to anyone who wants to come. 7/18 - Papermaking Workshop for Families, Princeton University Art Museum, 10-11:30am. Discover the unique sensory experience of making paper with your hands. Local artist and accomplished papermaker Susan Gosin—who has led workshops around the world—joins us for an activity in which she’ll encourage kids and their adults to get creative and experiment with materials and colors to create their own one-of-a-kind sheet to take home. Because papermaking can be a messy process, this workshop will be held outdoors in the Malkin Amphitheater. Grounds For Sculpture and Third Way Cultural Alliance present an evening of live music and intimate conversation, featuring the legendary Marshall Allen from Sun Ra Arkestra, avant-garde bassist Jamaaladeen Tacuma, and artist Salvador Jiménez-Flores. Allen and Tacuma will play new music within Jiménez-Flores’ exhibition Raíces & Resistencias, and all three artists will take part in a discussion on the importance of creative freedom.

7/19 - When The Declaration of Independence Was News, Morven Museum & Garden, 2-3:30pm. Join us for the next program in the Generation Declaration series, “When the Declaration of Independence Was News,” with Historian of the Declaration of Independence Emily Sneff. When the Declaration of Independence Was News focuses on the nation’s founding document at the moment of its creation in 1776, before anyone knew what the legacy of the Declaration would be or if the United States would win the war against Great Britain. It explores how the Declaration was communicated to people in the new nation and around the Atlantic world and reveals the stories of the many people involved in the process of declaring independence, from printers to soldiers to diplomats to translators. 7/23 - Mental Health Awareness & Support Workshop, 6:30-7:30pm.
Lawrence Headquarters Branch 2751 Brunswick Pike Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 609-883-8292. Led by Dr. Tashanna Ellis, Director of Pathway 2 Wellness Center and Doctor of Human Services, this welcoming workshop creates a safe space to learn, connect, and grow. Participants will build understanding of mental health diagnoses, recognize behaviors and symptoms, and explore how disabilities affect daily life. The session also offers practical tools for coping, communication, and self-advocacy, along with information about rights and available resources. Through guided discussion and interactive engagement, this workshop supports individuals with lived experience, families, and community members while fostering empowerment, connection, and overall well-being. 7/23 - Stories in the Garden: “Try It”, Morven Museum & Garden, 6:30pm.
Enjoy an evening in Morven's gardens while discovering the "magic" of the People & Stories/ Gente y Cuentos method - making connections, transforming lives through literature - one short story at a time. Hear a stunning, contemporary short story read aloud by an experienced P&S/GyC Coordinator during this free "Try It" session. Talk about it. Change your mind. That's the mantra as we engage in deep conversation among people from all walks of life through reading together in community. All are welcome! Space is limited to 20 people. 7/24 - Farmstead Fridays @Thompson-Neely Farmstead, 11-3pm. Experience the rhythms of 18th-century rural life at the Thompson-Neely Farmstead during this monthly living history series. From tending crops and livestock to exploring historic trades and seasonal chores, each program highlights the essential work of civilians during the American Revolution. Presented in partnership with Americana Corner, Farmstead Fridays offer an immersive, family-friendly way to connect with the past. Free and open to the public, no registration is required.

7/25 - The Sourland Mountain Fest, 3-8:30pm. The Sourland Mountain Fest, presented by Unionville Vineyards, will take place on July 25th from 3:00–8:30PM at Unionville Vineyards, located at 9 Rocktown Rd, Ringoes, New Jersey. For 40 years the Sourland Conservancy has steadfastly protected and preserved the Sourland region, the largest contiguous forest in Central New Jersey, and proceeds of the Sourland Mountain Festival will support the Conservancy’s mission. In addition to live music all day, the festival will have exceptional brews from Hillsborough’s Flounders Brewing, delicious eats and non-alcoholic refreshments from Cas Pierogi, Cassidy's Kitchen and the Crafty Caffe, a passport activity for kids, environmental exhibitors, and native plants for sale from My Backyard at Nectars.

7/25 & 26 - Mercer County 4-H Fair, Howell Living History Farm, 10-8pm.
The Mercer County 4H Fair will run from 10 AM to 8 PM on Saturday, July 25 and from 10 AM to 4 PM on Sunday, July 26. Admission and parking are free. Children's activities, hayrides, animal shows, music, farm tours, magic shows, pony rides, archery, and exhibits will take place throughout the fair. Food and drink, including homemade ice cream, will also be available for purchase. The opening ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. on July 25 in the Show Tent. 7/29 - Cooks + Books: “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”, Princeton Public Library, 3-4pm. A reading from "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" followed by a fun cooking class featuring recipes related to the book. For kids in kindergarten through second grades. Registration required. In Cooks + Books sessions, young chefs will explore new flavors, try out simple cooking skills and create globally inspired, nut-free, allergy-friendly dishes while learning about nutrition, kitchen safety, math and world cultures.

If you’re ready to tackle a craft and enjoy the company of other creative-minded folks, join us in the Craft Corner for an evening of casual art-making. This is an open space to use freely – bring your watercolor set, coloring book, sewing machine, polymer clay – and get to work! If you’re between projects, you’re welcome to bring a book, a puzzle to work on with the group, or anything that will spark your creativity. Save your spot.

7/30 - Listening to the Revolution: 250 Years of American Music, Morven Museum & Garden, 6pm. Grab a blanket, some lawn chairs and the whole family for a musical evening marking the 250th anniversary of the United States at the home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence and New Jersey’s first Governor’s Mansion. The Blawenburg Band will conclude their tour of performances called “Listening to the Revolution: 250 Years of American Music” with a free concert on Morven’s front lawn. We hope to see you there! A happy hour featuring craft cocktails and ciders from Ironbound Farm sets the stage for Brooke Barbier's presentation of "Cocked and Boozy: An Intoxicated History of the American Revolution." This first-come, first-served event is intended for adults ages 21 and older. Registration is required, but does not guarantee a seat. Step back in time to the candlelit taverns of 1776 and the years before as public historian Brooke Barbier examines the surprising role that alcohol played in shaping the nation. In her latest book, "Cocked and Boozy: An Intoxicated History of the American Revolution," Barbier uncovers how a good pour influenced politics, relationships and the colonial economy. Pairing great stories with great libations, each chapter concludes with an 18th-century cocktail recipe.
