American Repertory Ballet presents the dynamic and breathtaking world premiere of Ethan Stiefel’s SPIRIT OF THE HIGHLANDS from March 7 - 9 at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. Based on the romantic classic La Sylphide, SPIRIT OF THE HIGHLANDS re-imagines the tale of a young Scotsman who becomes entranced by a magical forest spirit known as The Sylph, and through his pursuits, eventually loses everything he holds dear. Stiefel traces his mother's family roots back to the Scottish Highland Clan Munro, taking his heritage and infusing it into this lively and bewitching ballet.

PNRA/Mercer in partnership with Rowing Cares will host the 9th Annual Mercer Indoor Challenge on Sunday, March 9th. The event will be held in person at the Ian H. Graham '50 Athletic Center at The Peddie School. For anyone who would like to participate virtually, you may submit a screenshot of your piece by the start of your posted event time on March 9 to Hilary Gehman. Winners of each event will receive a pink hammer. There must be at least 3 competitors in an event in order for a hammer to be awarded. Proceeds from the event will go to the YWCA Princeton's Breast Cancer Resource Center to support breast cancer patients and survivors, and to the Survivor Rowing Network to help more cancer survivors find the power of rowing for recovery, rehabilitation and socialization following their treatment.You can make an individual donation or create a Team Donation page HERE.

GR8 Works Fundraising Art Show March 4 to April 5 @WWAC
Get ready for a great art show and sale where local artists submit their 8”x8” works and raise funds for the Artist in Residence program. Morven’s Annual Plant Sale March 5 - April 7
Our Plant Sale has become a sought after as an early spring resource for unusual and distinct varieties that thrive in New Jersey. All proceeds benefit our exhibitions and education programs. The online sale typically begins mid March and features curated selections from Morven’s expert horticulturalist staff of deer resistant plants, annuals, perennials, veggies, heirloom, and prolific container plants. The 94th annual Bryn Mawr Wellesley Book Sale is March 12-16 at Stuart Country Day School, 1200 Stuart Road, in Princeton. Over 60,000 books in excellent condition, sorted into categories from Anthropology to World History, will be on sale, with most hardbacks priced at $4. Kids’ books start at $1. AARP sponsors free tax assistance for older adults and low- and moderate-income individuals through the AARP Tax-Aide program. AARP volunteers who are certified by the IRS will be available to prepare and electronically file individual Federal and New Jersey State returns. These volunteer preparers are particularly familiar with tax regulations and rebate programs that affect older adults.

3/9 - Pruning Demonstration with Reuwai Mount Hanewald, 1pm. Here at Terhune Orchards, we are often asked for advice on pruning and other cultural practices in the orchards. Reuwai Hanewald will explain how we prune and answer questions right out in the orchards. She will also discuss new varieties of fruit trees suitable for planting by the homeowner and the difference between various rootstocks. The class will be held rain or shine. 3/12 - Princeton Garden Theatre Prof Pick: 'Inside Out' 7:00pm. Princeton University’s Erik Nook will introduce this screening and lead a Q&A after the film. After her family moves from Minnesota to San Francisco, 11-year-old Riley’s emotions help her grapple with this change. Much of the action takes place within Riley’s head as personified Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust try to figure out the right balance within the young girl’s mind as she deals with the transition out of childhood while navigating a new environment. 3/13 – Reclaiming The Edith Farnsworth House, Morven Museum & Garden, 6:30-8pm., Don’t miss the third program in the 2025 Grand Homes and Gardens Speaker Series, Reclaiming The Edith Farnsworth House with speaker Nora Wendl, Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of New Mexico. A careful balance of humanity, art, and nature, the iconic Edith Farnsworth House was built as a weekend retreat for its namesake, prominent Chicago nephrologist, musician, and poet Dr. Edith Farnsworth. The house was the first domestic project in America for architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and would serve as a pivotal moment for his long career.

It's time to get creative together!Meet other families and friends and have fun getting creative at arts and crafts stations, playing board and card games, building with Legos and blocks, and dancing! 3/15 – The Wonder of the Night Sky, The Watershed, 7-9pm., Come join us for a very special event celebrating the night sky! Adults will enjoy a stimulating program with Dr. David Ackerman, physicist and Dark Skies advocate, about the wonder of the night sky and inspiring efforts to reduce light pollution in our own local area. During that time, children will join Watershed Educator Elizabeth Hinckley to learn about the cosmos and how they are connected to nocturnal creatures through fun games and activities. Then everyone will come together for a night hike and guided star gazing. Celestial snacks will be served! In the event of poor stargazing weather, the night hike will still be offered for a special chance to experience our Reserve at night. Pre-registration is required. 3/22 - Spring Preview Show, School of Rock Princeton, 3pm, School of Rock Princeton presents the Preview Show for our Spring 2025 Performance Season. This mid season performance is put on by our Performance Program students to showcase what they've been working on so far this season. At 3:00 we'll be featuring performances from the Tribute to The Ramones, From Under the Cork Tree, Iron Maiden, Neo Soul and Physical Graffiti groups, and at 6:30 we'll be featuring performances from the 21st Century Indie Rock, Arena Rock, A Tribute to Pink Floyd and Billie Eilish vs Olivia Rodrigo groups. The Performance Program at School of Rock is our hallmark music program, where tens of thousands of students across the world enroll each year. Students are assigned songs and parts in their weekly group rehearsal that are tailored to them based on their age, experience and ability to learn new skills and concepts.
