Princeton Launches Second Master Plan Community Visioning Survey - A new Community Visioning Survey that went live at the end of May invites residents to express their opinions on priorities for various kinds of development and community needs in Princeton. The survey takes 5-10 minutes to complete and can be found at engage.princetonmasterplan.org. The survey kicks off the final phase of community input into the Master Plan process, which has been underway for more than a year. Princeton residents can learn more about the Master Plan timeline, sign up to receive process updates, and take the second Community Visioning Survey at engage.princetonmasterplan.org
Responses will be collected through mid-June.

Free Guided History Tours at Washington Crossing State Park - The Historic Education Committee of the Washington Crossing Park Association (WCPA) will lead tours of the State Park on various Sundays from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. D&R Greenway Land Trust Hosts The Garden State Watercolor Society’s (GSWS) 53rd Annual Open Juried Exhibition, “Migration: Movement for Survival.” GSWS artists created their art to contemplate migration and change – a growing phenomenon in today’s world. Whether figurative or abstract, realistic or fanciful, this thoughtful art will inspire and cause the viewer to think and reflect on the state of the world’s people, wildlife and climate. New Online Permit System Launches in Princeton - The Municipality partnered with OpenGov to launch a new online permit application system in support of Council's goals of improving customer service and streamlining processes. The portal will allow applicants to submit and pay for various applications, and to track the permit status, online. Community Vacation Bible School, June 26-29 - For the third year, area churches will offer a community-wide Vacation Bible School. The free all-ages program will be held outdoors, on the grounds of Trinity Episcopal Church, 33 Mercer Street, from June 26 to 29, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Each session begins with a family dinner. Princeton Recreation Department has a few spots left in the always-popular skateboard clinics at Hilltop Park! The Art Groove will feature creative activities for children and adults, artists working in their studio, video art screenings, a DJ and live music provided by Jonah Tolchin and others, and a raffle in which people can win artwork from Princeton Makes artists. 6/9 – Live Music @The Library - From Janis to Alanis – Women Who Rock, Princeton Public Library, 7pm., Hinds Plaza. Featuring five female vocalists, backed by Princeton-area musicians, the show celebrates and traces female rock pioneers across time.

6/10 – Health & Happiness Fair, Lawrence Library, 11-3pm., The Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library will hold its inaugural Health & Happiness Fair in conjunction with the Lawrence Health Department. The library is partnering with more than twenty physical and mental health resource providers, as well as community agencies, organizations, and businesses to bring programs of support to the public free of charge. Agencies will address cancer screening and prevention, senior services, mental health services including sleep and wellness, suicide prevention, addiction, grief counseling and more. Participating health vendors will offer blood pressure checks, eye screening, body composition analysis and fall prevention tips. The Lawrence Health Department will provide COVID-19 vaccines for adults. In addition to crafts and activities for kids, participants may attend a meet and greet with a therapy dog, take part in raffles and enjoy free giveaways and snacks. 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ.

6/10 - One-Mile ArtWalk, WWAC, 11-2pm., Join West Windsor Arts for ArtWalk 2023. West Windsor Arts wants you to have a lot of fun while you get a little exercise and fresh air with friends and neighbors. The one-mile fun walk is a family-friendly fundraiser featuring art activities, games, picnics, a scavenger hunt, music and a silent auction with amazing deals on items for the whole family. Tickets are $25 per family or $10 per person. 6/10 - Summer Family Storytelling Festival, 2-5pm., Local nonprofit Storytelling Arts will hold a summer storytelling festival at the American Legion Post 120 at 320 N Union Street in Lambertville, behind the Rago Auction building. Guests can expect illuminating storytelling performances, live bands, children's hands-on art activities, and a silent auction complete with fine art, baskets, gift certificates and more that are guaranteed to please all. Bringing blankets or chairs. Music by The Crickets and the Laurie Vosburg Band. Indoor children's activities include making Origami, Puppets, and Crankie Stories. 6/11 - Sundaes on the Veranda, Trenton City Museum, 1-4pm., Enjoy a delicious ice cream sundae with your choice of classic flavors and toppings as Trenton City Museum hosts its annual Sundaes on the Veranda Sunday, June 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundaes will be served in an artisan-made ceramic bowls to keep and reuse or display. Admission is $20 for a sundae in a ceramic bowl, $10 in a disposable bowl, and $6 for children aged six and under accompanied by an adult (disposable bowl). 6/15 – Opening Reception - Albert Einstein: Champion of Racial Justice and Equality @Princeton Public Library, 6-7pm., A collaboration between The Princeton Einstein Museum of Science (PEMS) and the Witherspoon Jackson Historical and Cultural Society (WJHCS), the exhibit details the esteemed scientist’s relationships with residents of Princeton’s traditionally African American neighborhood, as well as with many of the most prominent Black leaders of the mid 20th century.

6/17 – Juneteenth Celebration, Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum, 12-4pm., Our Juneteenth celebration, "Freedom Forward," is a family-friendly event that aims to educate, celebrate, and promote unity and cohesion within our culturally diverse community. The event will feature music, an original play, poetry, and a family tree heritage workshop led by the Morven Museum. 6/23 & 24 - I Am Harvey Milk at Princeton Festival - OnFriday, June 23 at 7pmand Saturday, June 24 at 7pmthe Princeton Festival presents I Am Harvey Milk, a musical theater oratorio by acclaimed Broadway composer and lyricist Andrew Lippa (Big Fish, The Addams Family). The show celebrates the legacy of Harvey Milk, an American icon and the first openly gay man to hold office in California. Lippa’s oratorio is part choral work and part theater piece, taking audience members through Milk’s life, from his childhood to his assassination. Conducted by Andrew Lippa himself, these performances serve as the world premiere of a revised version of the original work, and take place in the tented performance pavilion on the grounds of beautiful Morven Museum and Garden.

6/24 – Annual Vintage Base Ball Game, Historical Society of Princeton, 11-1pm., Part game, part history lesson, and an all-around fantastic show of sportsmanship comes to Greenway Meadows Park this month for the Historical Society of Princeton’s Annual Vintage Base Ball Game. Families and guests are welcome to watch an inning or stay for the entire game, where the Flemington Neshanock will take on the New Brunswick Liberty in a competitive match of bare-handed ‘base ball,’ wearing period uniforms and using 1864 rules. Players from across the tri-state area will entertain and answer questions about the rich history of America’s favorite pastime. After the game, families and individuals of all ages are invited to take batting practice using authentic 19th-century equipment replicas! The event is free and open to the public, with no pre-registration required.
