Technical Friday: Municipal Ordinances, The Watershed Institute

Municipalities have significant authority over the development and protection of their communities. Zoning and site development ordinances as well as environmental ordinances can provide a strong backbone to enhance and protect a municipality’s environment and resiliency. While the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has baseline regulations to protect the environment and communities, in many cases these regulations are not enough and do not account for the requirements of a particular municipality.

The panelists will discuss the environmental issues currently facing municipalities and how carefully drafted and enacted ordinances can strengthen a municipality’s ability to protect the environment and safeguard its communities. This event will be 100% virtual. Recordings will be shared with attendees after the event.
