Michelangelo Buonarroti left over half of his marble sculptures — some 26 of his 44 works, ranging from his very first carving to his last — in various unfinished states. Princeton University Associate Professor of Art and Archaeology Carolina Mangone explores the problem and appeal of these uncompleted sculptures. She focuses on a handful of Michelangelo's sculptures and their relationship to the preparatory arts of drawing and modeling. Participants are encouraged to bring refreshments to share at a post-program reception.
