Spring Garden Outdoor Education Volunteer Projects with Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County
For those of you already vaccinated, or comfortable with outside activities in small groups, we are planning several Spring volunteer days for our Garden & Outdoor Education Center in April.
Logistics of the various days & projects is attached and below.
Centre Street Community Center (212 Centre Street, Trenton, NJ 08611
4/15 12- 3pm – Spring Clean -up (12 volunteers)

Raking leaves & branch. Litter patrol

Pruning bushes/plants, removing weeds
-
Repairing garden edging
-
Installing new mulch
4/16 10- 1pm – Spring Planting & Building (12 volunteers)

4-6 Volunteers to help build new garden beds (screwing pre-cut lumber)

Dig holes and plant new shrubs, blue berries
-
Place top soil in new garden beds
-
Stain/paint garden beds
4/17 – 10-1 Rain date (12 volunteers)

Will do projects based on any missed due to weather
-
May have some project to finish
Spruce Street Community Center (1040 Spruce Street, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648)
4/22 10- 1pm (12 volunteers)

Leaf & litter clean up around the property
-
Build new garden beds (screwing pre-cut lumber)

Planting any replacement shrubs
-
Install new mulch
-
weeding
4/23 12- 3pm Rain date (12 volunteers)

Same projects as 4/22 in case it rains or projects not completed.
