Birds, Nesting and Birdhouses
Terhune Orchards’ Read and Explore Program is a winter education series designed to engage young learners through stories, hands-on activities, and seasonal farm learning. The program follows the popular Read and Pick Program offered during the growing season. This session focuses on birds as they prepare for spring and new families. The program lasts about an hour and includes a story and educational segment. After story time, each child will make their own birdhouse and get nesting materials to take home.

Fairies and Friends gather together for some magical activities at the Watershed. We’ll search for fairies hidden at each activity station using a scavenger hunt sheet, create some fun crafts, play games and flutter our way around the obstacle course and more. Come dressed as a fairy or other mythical creature. We estimate it takes about an hour to do all the stations. Please plan to arrive between 11 am-12 pm to get the most out of the event!
Children of all ages are welcome, under 2 years old are free. Adult attendance required

In honor of America 250, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, join historical reenactor Richard Moody in his engaging portrayal of French aristocrat Marquis de Lafayette! This performance will detail Lafayette's "Welcome Home" tour of New Jersey at age 68 at the invitation of President Monroe. You will discover more about this hero and his role in the American Revolution and his significance to American history. Registration is required.

American Repertory Ballet (ARB) presents the World Premiere of Cinderella, the timeless fairytale of a young woman who rises above adversity to find hope, love, and her own happily-ever-after. Performances take place March 6–8, 2026 at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center.
Audiences are invited into a world of enchantment as Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother alters her destiny, a Prince captures her heart, and kindness and courage prevail over cruelty. With choreography by Samantha Dunster, ARB’s recently appointed Artistic Director, this magical production features dazzling new sets and costumes, an international cast of professional artists, and 36 young students from Princeton Ballet School, the official school of American Repertory Ballet. A spellbinding experience for all ages, Cinderella is the outing for the whole family to enjoy!

The Trent House in collaboration with the Trenton Puerto Rican Community & Friends organization and others is organizing a program of free demonstrations, workshops, presentations, and an exhibition during March 2026 on the theme of Fabric, Stories, & Memory. Most events will be at the William Trent House Museum, 15 Market Street in Trenton, New Jersey, located across William Trent Place from the Hughes Justice Complex. Free parking is available off William Trent Place behind the Museum property.
Fabric, Stories, & Memory will celebrate the long history of our city, state, and nation of embracing, preserving, and building on the material culture of the many groups who have enriched our country. Visitors can view the exhibition in the historic house of garments and other textiles from Latino, Liberian, and Ukrainian cultures as well as contemporary fabric art from March 8 through March 28. Fabric artists will offer hands-on workshops using fabric to create personal memory books or a collective artwork. A technique for creating two- and three-dimensional pieces from wool will be demonstrated and three illustrated talks describing traditional and modern ways fabric is used to tell and remember stories will be given.
