Boys & Girls Clubs 2025 Great Futures Dinner - Celebrated in February

On Friday, February 28, over 170 supporters, staff, family, and friends gathered for Boys & Girls Clubs' annual Great Futures Dinner, themed A Snowy Soiree, celebrating the unique journeys of Club youth.

The highlight of the evening: selecting the 2025 Youth of the Year. Ten dedicated Club members competed, impressing volunteer judges with their resumes, essays, recommendations, and interviews. Five finalists took the stage to deliver inspiring speeches, and BGC Mercer proudly announced longtime Club member Johnnie E. as this year's winner!

Johnnie, 17, a senior at Trenton Central H.S., will now represent our Club at the state competition. "The Club feels like a second home to me. I have had so many great opportunities here. The mentorship I recieved has helped to prepare me for the next step in my career and journey", said Johnnie. Johnnie has already been accepted to Delaware State and Miles College, he awaits decisions from several others. Congratulations Johnnie and to all of the other candidates! We are so proud of all of you.
