The Stories Fabrics Tell: An Illustrated History, William Trent House

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, Leslie Bramlett will give the keynote talk for the Trent House's "Fabric, Stories, & Memory" project. Her free talk will be given in the William Trent House Museum Visitor Center at 2 pm. The Museum is located at 15 Market Street in Trenton, New Jersey, across from the Hughes Justice Complex. Free parking is available off William Trent Place behind the museum property.

Leslie's talk provides an illustrated historical overview of fabric as a cultural artifact, evoking both personal and collective memories. and will recount fascinating stories behind fabric designs from the past. Her talk starts off a month-long exhibition and series of programs at the Trent House, celebrating the long history in our city, state, and nation of embracing, preserving, and building on the material culture of the many groups who have enriched our country. Beginning on March 8th through the 28th, visitors can view the exhibition in the historic house of garments and other textiles from Latino, Liberian, and Ukrainian cultures as well as contemporary fabric art.
