President's Message
Dear Members and Friends:

We wish all our members and friends a HAPPY NEW YEAR and we hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. We also hope that you had a visit from that jolly old fellow who left many goodies under your trees!

It was good to see those of you who celebrated at the CJNBW Holiday party on Dec. 15th.

Thanks to all the members who contributed delicious food and company which made the event a success.

We are planning two events, one for February and the other for April 2003 and we would like to get everyone’s input, so come on out to the next monthly network meeting on January 14th, at the Hickory Corner Library.

We also want to give you a ‘heads up’ on information for the March 11th meeting. Ms Betty Savage, LCSW, from Capital Health System, will be speaking on Mental Health for Women’s Well Being. Please mark your calendar to attend.

Again, welcome to the New Year with CJNBW.

IMPORTANT DATES

Tuesday,  Jan 7 - 7:30 p.m. - Steering Committee Meeting at Twin Rivers Library, Abbington Dr. Twin Rivers (443-1880).

Tues., Jan 14 - 7:30 p.m. - Regular Monthly Meeting at  Hickory Corner Rd Library, 138 Hickory Corner Rd., E. Windsor (448-1332).  This will be a business meeting.  Everyone please feel free to bring a treat.  The  meeting is open to anyone interested in joining the CJNetwork.

Feb. 11 - Joan Tomlin is tentatively scheduled to make a presentation regarding her trip to Africa last Fall.

March 11th - Ms. Betty Savage, LCSW, from Capital Health System will be speaking on "Mental Health for Women's Well Being".

OTHER IMPORTANT  NOTES
The Book Club, now named,  "Reading Between the Lines" continues.  The next date will be decided at a future meeting.  

Steering Committee Corner
This Committee is made up of the officers of the Network.  We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Twin Rivers Library, 276 Abbington Dr., E. Windsor, NJ.,  (609-443-1880).  Any member can attend these meetings, if so desired. 

DUES:  If you have not paid, please bring your payment to the next meeting or mail it to our Treasurer, Shirley Vassall.

THANK YOU

The CJNBW members and friends wish to extend a big "Thank You" to Marty and Ruth Timins for opening their lovely home to us on 12/15 for our Christmas Party.  The food was delicious, thanks to Ruth's culinary skills, and the company was great.  Also, we thank members for bringing goodies.

GIFTS FOR CRISIS MINISTRIES

Thanks to members who brought gift bags for delivery to the Crisis Ministries.  Thanks to Noreen Lois Duncan for making the delivery of these gifts.  We are sure everything will be much appreciated.

 

CLOTHING COLLECTION

We will be collecting clothing (in good condition and clean) for the Urban Women's Center and Dress for Success, (also known as Suitably Dressed) both located in Trenton.  These organizations assist women who are returning to work and do not have the proper attire for work.  They also need shoes and handbags.  Joyce will take donations for "Dress for Success" and Noreen for the "Urban Woman's Center."  Thank you for your help in this matter.  Your donations will be greatly appreciated..
 

CONDOLENCES

Howard and Shirley Vassall lost Howard's mother last week, and we send our sincere sympathies to the family.  Please keep them in your prayers.

It is our intention to remember all who are ill, lost a loved one or congratulate members and their families when achievements are made.  However, you must let Joyce Abbott (448-4511) know so mention can be made in the Newsletter.
  

TIPS

Room Deodorizer (vacuuming)

Put a scented fabric softener sheet into the bag of your upright vacuum cleaner to create a fresh smell.  This should last for several weeks.
