President's Message
Dear Members and Friends:

Please join us on February 11th at Hickory Corner Rd. library to celebrate Black History month, and to hear Ms. Joan Tomlin discuss her recent trip to Africa.  This trip was unique in that its main focus was to visit with members of an African sister Presbyterian Church.  We look forward to Ms. Tomlin sharing this insider’s perspective on Africa with us.

Also mark your calendars for the following events scheduled for March and April:

Tuesday, March 11th, Ms Betty Savage of Capital Health Systems will speak on Mental Health for Women’s Well Being.

On a Sunday in April (date to be determined), CJNBW will celebrate it’s 22nd anniversary and honor the 2003 Woman of the Year.

We have received a request for a member of CJNBW to speak with students at Hightstown High School during their Black History Month celebrations.  Any members who would like to participate should contact Linda Moton Rivers.

We hope that Black History month is rewarding for you and your family.

Sincerely,

Ruth Rainford Timins

re: Presentation at February meeting:

Joan Tomlin will be unable to make her Feb. 11th presentation on her trip to Ghana as she had a mishap slipping on ice and was instructed by her Dr. to take it easy.

We will be collecting clothing (in good condition and clean, for working women) for the Urban Women's Center, 1201 W. State St., Trenton ( contact Dir., Doris Williams (609) 989-1925) and Dress for Success, (also known as Suitably Dressed), 640 S. TIPS

Burned Food - If food has burned onto the bottom of your cooking pot, soak the pot in full-strength vinegar for 30 minutes.  Scrub and wash well.  Or, add 3 tablespoons baking soda with enough water to cover the bottom.  Simmer until gunk comes off.
