Family Quilt Art Workshop, Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie
Cadwalader Park, Trenton, 609-989-1191. www.ellarslie.org. Children and their families are invited to explore how artists use shape and color to create artistic patterns. The session will start with a tour of the quilt art exhibition, byCONTRAST: Apparent Contradictions. Then children trace and cut out shapes from felt in various colors. Using glue, children create patterns and their own works of art. Quilt artist and instructor Wannetta Phillips introduces some traditional patterns and guides children in choosing their choice of colors, tracing the patterns, and then cutting and gluing. To close the workshop, children title their artwork and sign their names as artists. Time allowing, children can present their artwork to the group. Register. Free.
