21st Annual Firecracker 5K, YWCA Princeton

YWCA Princeton is thrilled to announce its 21st Annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk, taking place on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 8:00 AM at Veteran's Park, 2206 Kuser Rd., Hamilton, NJ. This cherished community event supports the Pearl Bates Scholarship Fund at The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center, honoring Pearl Bates, a dedicated YWCA Princeton volunteer who passed away in 1963. The fund provides essential financial assistance to families seeking high-quality, year-round childcare at The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center at YWCA Princeton.

The Firecracker 5K is more than just a race; it's a family-friendly celebration featuring a USATF-certified 5K course, 50-yard dash or a 100-yard dash for children (ages 3-8), lawn games, prizes, and a live DJ. Travelin' Toms Coffee Truck will be on site as well! Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers overall, as well as the top three male and female runners in 16 different age groups. Participants who register by May 31 are guaranteed a t-shirt.

Yoga in the Garden, Morven Museum & Garden

Enjoy a morning of movement, music, and serenity in these guided, outdoor yoga classes in the picturesque setting of Morven Museum & Garden's colonial garden, behind the main Museum building. Skilled instructors outfitted by lululemon will lead participants through an all-level yoga flow class, accompanied by live music. Yoga in the Garden is suggested for adults and children ages 10+, beginners and regular practitioners at all skill levels!

Shoppers who visit any of the 50 participating independent bookstores, including Princeton's Labyrinth Books and The Cloak and Dagger, can enter to win prizes.

Molly Jong-Fast is the only child of a famous woman, writer Erica Jong, whose sensational book "Fear of Flying" launched her into second-wave feminist stardom. She grew up yearning for a connection with her dreamy, glamorous, just out of reach mother, who always seemed to be heading somewhere that wasn’t with Molly. When, in 2023, Erica was diagnosed with dementia just as Molly’s husband discovered he had a rare cancer, Jong-Fast was catapulted into a transformative year.

Winery Weekend Music Series, Terhune Orchards

Join family and friends for our winery weekend music series. Set in our wine orchard among 100 year old apple trees, it is the perfect way to relax, connect, and toast the weekend. Enjoy a glass of one of our award-winning wines, by the glass, in a tasting flight or a refreshing wine slush. Sit back and listen to live music from local artists each week. Styles range from Jazz and Blues to Folk and Rock. Music is from 2pm-5pm. Light fare available. Bring the entire family to enjoy fresh air on the farm, stop in the farm store for fresh produce, baked goods and local gourmet items, and stroll on the farm. Barn Door Cafe is open on weekends for lunch fare, homemade treats and ice cream. Winery hours 12pm-5pm.

No outside food or pets please. No reservations needed for less than 8 people. Groups over 8 require reservation.
