Master Gardener Plant Sale - Newtown

Penn State Master Gardeners of Bucks County will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 3rd, from 9AM to 1PM at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds located at 576 Penns Park Road in Newtown, PA 18940. This highly anticipated sale will include donated plants from Master Gardeners, unusual perennials, annuals, vegetables and herbs, pollinator and butterfly plants, native plants, houseplants, shade plants, deer-resistant plants, container plants, and a beautiful selection of hanging baskets for Mother’s Day.

More than 80 knowledgeable Master Gardeners will be on hand during the sale to answer your home gardening questions. Your plant sale purchases will support community outreach, local demonstration gardens, and gardening education. Please note: No dogs are allowed. This event will be held rain or shine. Spring Plant Expo and Garden Market, Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County

Find garden blooms galore at the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County annual Spring Plant Expo and Garden Market on Saturday, May 3rd from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event will be held rain or shine at the Mercer Educational Gardens, located on the grounds of the Mercer County Stables at 431A Federal City Road, Hopewell Township. This year's Expo will feature the ever-popular home-grown perennials, trees, and shrubs from the gardens of Rutgers Master Gardeners.A garden market will feature select vendors including Steven Kristoph Nursery of Millstone Township, Shannon's Nursery from Doylestown, Byrne Farm Market of Wrightstown, and Chickadee Creek Farm in Pennington. Meet these select growers and purchase a wide variety of native plants, woody ornamentals, perennials, annuals, herbs, tomatoes, and other veggies.

Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. Free parking is available on site. Pets are not allowed on the park grounds, except for trained service animals.

Blue Moon Acres Farm Market

Blue Moon Acres Farm Market will open for the season beginning on Friday April 18th. The farm market will be open on Fridays 9am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-3pm until December. 11 Willow Creek Drive, Pennington.

Blue Moon Acres’ mission is to offer the most nutritious organically-grown produce and locally-sourced favorites. Owners Jim and Kathy Lyons have provided organic food to restaurants for thirty four years and want to offer it to their neighbors as well. Inside the geothermally heated and cooled building will be a selection of Blue Moon-grown Certified Organic produce, micro greens, eggs, rice, our own line of Herbarium body care products made with herbs grown on the farm, as well as an array of products from other local vendors. New this year: Cherry Grove Farm and Doublebrook Farm meats, Cherry Grove Farm cheeses, Otolith sustainable seafood, and Bent Spoon ice cream.

Customers may also sign up for a subscription produce box for weekly pickup at the farm or delivery to their home. We offer our boxes containing Certified Organic produce and fruits year-round!

Trenton Walks!

This special walk through the Chambersburg and Villa Park neighborhoods will be led by Jeffrey Laurenti, who serves on the Capital City Redevelopment Corporation Board of Directors. We will tour this fascinating part of Trenton, showcasing the neighborhoods' colorful past and vibrant future. The walk starts and ends at Roebling Market (635 S. Clinton Avenue). Roughly 3.0 miles.

Spring Book Sale, Hunterdon County Historical Society

The nonprofit Hunterdon County Historical Society will hold its spring book sale on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside its Archive Building, 67 River Road in Raritan Township. The sale will feature a wide selection of books about townships in Hunterdon County; the history of New Jersey, and other states; biographies; and volumes on the American Revolution, the Civil War, and World War II.

You’ll also find a selection of rare books and first editions. The sale includes reproductions of historic maps and posters. The society also will have copies of its newest edition of the full-color Beers Atlas available for purchase. Arrive early for the best selection.

Rain date is Sunday, May 4. Cash or check is preferred.

Kite Day, Terhune Orchards

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Bring your own kite or choose a ready-made kite from the wide selection in the store. Or better yet, make your own “guaranteed to fly” kite. Whichever you choose, test fly your kite in our wide-open 10-acre pasture with all the farm animals looking on. The farm will ring with country music and entertainment all weekend. The sheep will be shorn on Sunday and children can take home a piece of real fleece. On Saturday, the Princeton Morris Dancers will perform traditional May Day dances. Enjoy live music 1-4pm each day.

Admission is $15 in advance or $18 the day of (ages 3 and up).
