Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey Presents Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5

Saturday April 11, 2026
7:30 PM

The Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey will present its Spring Concert on Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 PM at the War Memorial Ballroom in Trenton, led by Music Director finalist Kyle Ritenauer. The program pairs evocative orchestral miniatures with one of the great Romantic symphonies and offers audiences a full evening of music, visual art, and educational programming.

Designed as an immersive cultural experience, the evening invites audiences to engage with the music in multiple ways while enjoying a vibrant gathering of the arts in the historic War Memorial. Ticket holders can begin their evening with a free pre-concert lecture by musicologist Dr. Joel Phillips from 6:45–7:15 PM in the downstairs lounge, offering insights into the evening’s repertoire. The concert begins at 7:30 PM in the Patriots Theater with this vibrant program: Samuel Coleridge-Taylor — Ballade in A minor (approx. 13 minutes) Zoltán Kodály — Dances of Galánta (approx. 15 minutes) Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky — Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 (approx. 45 minutes)

Audience members will also be able to enjoy a lobby art exhibition featuring works by Liz Aubry and John Gummere, highlighting local artists and expanding the artistic experience beyond the concert stage. To create a welcoming social atmosphere, Tea-For-All will offer refreshments for purchase in the lobby, and a gift vendor will present unique items for sale, making the event a complete evening of art, music, education, and community gathering.
