Princeton University Concerts: “Little Listeners: Time for Music"

Saturday March 14, 2026
1:00 PM

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, Princeton University Concerts (PUC) welcomes Rami Vamos and the Bayberry String Quartet.

Imagine time as a big, blank piece of paper, just waiting for something magical. We can't draw on time with crayons, but we can fill it with beautiful music! In this fun and playful program, we'll discover how time makes music special. We'll feel the steady beat (like music's very own heart!), tap along to rhythms, and zoom fast or slow with tempo. Along the way, we'll see how music can match our feelings—whether we're happy, sleepy, or ready to dance! Let's make time for music together!

In these "Little Listeners" concerts, curated for children ages 3-6 and their families and adapted for neurodiverse audiences, including children with autism or other special needs, host Rami Vamos and the Bayberry String Quartet will bring little listeners on a fun, interactive journey, exploring works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvorák, Rorem, and Leroy Anderson. Tickets for Princeton University Concerts' family programs go quickly. They are available at puc.princeton.edu or by phone at 609.258.9220 ($6 for children; $11 for adults). Tickets may also be available on the day of the concert, starting at 12:15PM at the box office at Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.

Albert Einstein Birthday Celebration, The Historical Society of Princeton

Saturday March 14, 2026
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

On Pi Day, the Princeton community honors its famous former resident, Albert Einstein, who was born (appropriately) on March 14, 1879. The Historical Society of Princeton, home to one of the world's largest collections of Einstein's personal belongings, will offer two opportunities to observe his 147th birthday.

Author and journalist Benyamin Cohen will speak in Princeton Public Library's Community Room about Einstein's enduring popularity at 11:00 am. Cohen, who manages the official social media accounts of the world famous physicist, will include anecdotes from his book, "The Einstein Effect: How the World's Favorite Genius Got into Our Cars, Our Bathrooms, and Our Minds." Free; registration is requested.

Visit the Historical Society of Princeton's museum at Updike Farmstead between 1:00 and 4:00 pm to get an up close look at his furniture and other personal belongings; special collections not typically on display to the public will also be on view. Plus, Einstein himself will be in the museum to answer questions and take pictures! Additional activities provided by the Princeton Einstein Museum of Science include magnetism games, a mini black hole exhibit, and, for kids 12 and under, a free compass or Pi Day tattoo. Admission is $5 (free for children 6 and under). Purchase tickets online before March 14 to receive a unique gift: a First Day of Issue stamp commemorating the 100th anniversary of Einstein's birth (one per family). www.princetonhistory.org

Cervantes’ classic is reimagined in a dazzling new production from the creators of McCarter audience favorites, Lookingglass Alice and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Somewhere in La Mancha there lived a man who read so many books that his brains dried up…so he becomes a knight! As Don Quixote embarks on his impossible quest for justice, Lookingglass Theatre’s signature acrobatics, breathtaking visuals, and boundless imagination transport audiences into his wild, windmill-tilting world.

Gravity Hill and Ride or Die @Needle Creek Brewery

Saturday March 14, 2026
8:00 PM - 11:00 PM

A winter party to celebrate all the friends we are so lucky to have and the ones we haven't yet met. New songs. Old songs. Great craft beer and tasty local bites for sale.

The musicians in Gravity Hill and Ride or Die met on a porch in Princeton, on a rainy spring day three years ago - the result of a fortuitous decision by the Princeton Porchfest Committee. The bands played in a steady downpour and by the time they were done the street was so packed that the cops had to shut the block down to traffic. This will be their first show together since then. What they deliver is an eclectic mix of songs you've heard, a few covers you haven't, and original music built upon the the vibes and jangles of sixties pop, folk & Americana, dance rock, alternative rock, and rhythm & blues.
