Looking to lend a hand this winter? Join the FOPOS Tree Tenders and nurture the forest through its peaceful winter season. Attend a Tree Tenders training session on either Tuesday, January 6th or Saturday, January 17th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. As a Tree Tender, you'll work independently at the Preserve to gently care for the native trees and shrubs, use hand pruners to clear invasive vines from protective cages, and monitor our new plantings. Adults may work independently, while minors can work under the supervision of a parent/guardian. Step outside, make a difference, and help the forest grow stronger one tree at a time.

One of George Bernard Shaw’s most enduringly popular comedies follows a hunted soldier who, seeking refuge in a young lady’s boudoir, starts in motion a series of unlikely comedic events. His unusual philosophies about life in general open up a world of thought she’s never previously entertained- certainly not with her dashing war-hero fiancée who also arrives unexpectedly. This early work of Shaw’s is a sparkling examination of romance, sex, love, political maneuverings, war, hope, and chocolate! $24/$22 PG
