South Brunswick Jazz Café Concert – Ginger Meyer
Ginger Meyer is an alto saxophonist and educator born in Belvidere, New Jersey. In their stomping grounds of Easton, PA, native musicians such as Bill Goodwin, Skip Wilkins, and Adam Nussbaum nurtured strong musical values while Ginger was still in high school. Now wrapping up a degree in Music Education and Jazz Performance at Rutgers University, they perform live shows with blues, rock, and jazz groups all over the East Coast. Ginger has had the pleasure of sharing the stage and learning from master musicians such as Bruce Williams, Abraham Burton, Gene Perla, Ralph Bowen, Anthony Branker, Christian McBride, and Camille Thurman. In the past two years, Ginger has taught at the Jazz House Kids Summer Workshop and Jazz House Chica Power, an all-female and non-binary initiative for jazz musicians. Ginger's most recent project, The Erasure of Identities and Voices, will focus on the monumental role African Americans have played in the history of our nation, featuring dancers and musicians.
