From the famous “Dance of the Cygnets” to the poignant and renowned romantic pas de deux, this fairytale scene promises to leave audiences of all ages spellbound. Also featured will be Ethan Stiefel’s “if”, a poignant solo that traces the contours of love and loss set to “If I Could Only Fly” by American singer-songwriter and poet Blaze Foley; and Lar Lubovitch’s “Something About Night,” a mesmerizing dreamlike quintet set to the ethereal voices of Franz Schubert’s male choral songs. THE MTM Players
Spend an Enchanted Evening (or afternoon) with The MTM Players as they whisk you away to The South Pacific with this beloved Rodgers & Hammerstein classic featuring Bali Hai, Younger Than Springtime, You Have to Be Taught, I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy, and of course Some Enchanted Evening. Based on the anecdotes of a real-life U.S. Navy commander who was stationed on an island, South Pacific follows two intercultural love stories: Nellie, a spunky Navy nurse from Arkansas, and Lieutenant Cable who both find themselves struggling to reconcile their own cultural prejudices with their amorous feelings, all while under the dark cloud of a war that is coming ever closer to their island paradise.
