"The Great Gatsby" Community Read-Aloud, Princeton Public Library

We're kicking off National Library Week 2025 by taking part in Right to Read Day, an annual event dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to protect the freedom to read and access books without censorship.

"The Great Gatsby," a frequently challenged or banned book written in 1925, will be read in its entirety starting at 11 a.m. The centennial of the novel is being commemorated with a series of events in Princeton.

All are invited and encouraged to attend — individuals, groups, teachers and students and book clubs. Drop-in readers and listeners are welcome. Jennifer Weiner Author Event/Fundraiser, Princeton Public Library

When Jennifer Weiner makes her ninth Princeton Public Library-sponsored appearance to discuss her 20th novel for adults, "The Griffin Sisters' Greatest Hits," it will be something of a full-circle event for the author and the library. Weiner will appear 3 p.m. April 7 at the Nassau Club as part of the Beyond Words fundraising series hosted by the Friends and Foundation of Princeton Public Library.

Tickets for Weiner's April 7 appearance at the Nassau Club are $175 and include a signed copy of "The Griffin Sister's Greatest Hits" and afternoon refreshments. The club is at 6 Mercer Street in Princeton. The ticket price includes a tax-deductible donation to Princeton Public Library to expand collections and ensure access to valuable resources for all.
