On April 21, 2025 The Women's College Club of the Princeton will meet 1 to 3 PM at Morven Museum Stockton Educational Center 55 Stockto St, Princeton NJ. This month's talk is titled Women in Baseball: The 24-Hours for Africa Baseball Game in 2003 presented by Cathy Kreyche , an independent editor, writer, and researcher.
In 2002, the HIV/AIDs epidemic had claimed millions lives worldwide. Women baseball players from Japan, the US, and Australia came together in Tucson, Arizona over the weekend of October 16–17, 2003 to play baseball for 24 hours. Their goal was to raise funds to support the organization U.S. Doctors for Africa. The 24-hour game highlighted the love of playing baseball shared across generations, geography, and gender. This presentation provides a snapshot of the game and shows its impact on the players, including the presenter, who was one of the women fortunate to be a part of this once-in-a lifetime event. Free and open to the public. For more information contact WCCPNJ.org

The Italian wine region surrounding Rome is Lazio, known for its white wines, particularly those made from Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes. Frascati is the most popular of these wines but many other examples exist. Among the red wines, Cesanese is an indigenous grape that produces fruity, well structured wines. Join us on this "holiday" as we explore the wines of Lazio. Snacks and assaggini will be served.
