The Simple Life of James Herriot, The World’s Most Famous Veterinarian - Virtual

Claire Evans shares the life of Alf Wight, a country veterinarian better known as James Herriot. His works inspired the recent adaptation, “All Creatures Great and Small,” shown on PBS’ Masterpiece.

Anglophile and former UK resident Claire Evans recounts the life and times of Alf Wight, an unassuming country veterinarian who practiced for 50 years in one of England’s most beautiful places, the Yorkshire Dales. He rose to international fame later in life under the pen name James Herriot as he recounted the heartwarming animal stories and colorful characters of a bygone era, inspiring films and multiple television series, including the latest TV adaptation of “All Creatures Great and Small,” shown on PBS’ Masterpiece. Bask in the visual beauty of Claire’s recent Yorkshire Dales visit and learn the surprising story of the vet whose books still entertain millions.

Princeton Comic Makers presents: JERSEY ART MEETUPS (JAM), a weekly social event connecting creatives within the greater Central Jersey area through a shared passion for sequential art and new media. Attendees may use this open workshop space to draw, write, and develop their own artwork, with an opportunity to receive peer review and feedback from other members if desired. Illustrators, animators, writers, and generalists are all welcome to join and discuss their art and career goals, share learning resources, promote current projects, or find friends and collaborators. Must be 16+ to attend. Free.
