Fernbrook Farms Education Center Summer Day Camp

Just 20 minutes south of Princeton, off I-295, rests a natural wonderland. Both camp programs offered weekly 8:30AM-4PM with extended care from 7:30AM to 5:30PM

Fiddlehead Day Camp, Ages 6-11Throughout Fernbrook’s 230 acres of woods, gardens, streams, meadows and ponds, children are led by experienced educators to explore, investigate, discover, and renew their inherent connection to the natural world.

Young Stewards Enrichment Program, Ages 12-14 Young Stewards explore all natural wonders of New Jersey with day trips and camping trips. Campers paddle waterways in the Pine Barrens, study shorebirds and marine life on the coast and climb the boulders of the highlands.

This new school targets the population of early learners who show clear signs of dyslexia. We provide a safe, supportive environment for students. Using expert teachers, we use essential research-based multi-sensory teaching methodologies which include Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System®, and others. A range of creative and assistive technologies are integrated into the curriculum, such as iMovie, GarageBand, Kurzweil, Inspiration@ Software, Dragon Dictation and others. The Newgrange School in Hamilton, NJ (a state-approved school for students with disabilities) and the Newgrange Educational Center in Princeton have provided educational services for dyslexics since 1977. Newgrange’s Executive Director, Dr. Gordon Sherman, is internationally recognized for his contributions to the field of brain research, teaching methodologies, and service to the dyslexia community.

The 860-acre Watershed Reserve in Hopewell NJ offers outdoor experiences for the entire family. Visitors can enjoy the animals and exhibits of the Buttinger Nature Center, the butterflies and garden habitats of the Kate Gorrie Butterfly House (in season), and more more than 10 miles of hiking trails. The Reserve is owned and managed by The Watershed Institute - central New Jersey's first environmental group. The Watershed Institute protects clean water and the environment throughout the 265-square-mile region of central New Jersey drained by the Stony Brook and Millstone River. Registration is now open for Watershed Science & Stewardship Academy 2018

The Watershed Science and Stewardship Academy classes are week-long environmental investigations for high school students designed to invoke a sense of wonder and inquiry of the natural environment in the context of real-world issues. Four exciting offerings are on climate change, green architecture, field science and clean water, using Next Generation Science Standards. Students will explore environmental careers alongside professors and professionals through hands-on activities engaged in real scientific techniques and conservation projects.
