City Kidz World Writing Studio, located in Skillman, NJ, is committed to encouraging young people to take an active role in their development as writers. It is a writing program for writers ages 8 to 17 who are interested in creative writing, journalistic writing, or academic writing. Classes are small or individualized and are available days, evenings, and weekends. Writers may work on their own independent creative projects with a writing coach, join a journalistic cohort and publish a newsletter,  join a poetry work group, or work with an instructor to customize a program that will help improve their performance in school. At WCP, we teach students and college applicants smarter ways to write. WCP's method provides effective, easy-to-use, research-based instruction. Our flexible strategies have been tested with over 3,000 students and are tailored to the unique needs of each student. The results include improved grades and test scores, acceptance letters from top colleges, and scholarship money. Target areas in the tutoring session may include developing a point of view, critical thinking exercises, analyzing and interpreting texts, comparing and contrasting texts, developing a persuasive argument, using textual evidence, research skills including evaluating evidence from secondary sources, and refining diction, grammar, and sentence structure.
