PRINCETON PUBLIC LIBRARY HOSTS TUESDAY NETWORKING BREAKFASTS BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 28, 2010
By
Jane Hynes
Job-seekers have opportunities this fall to seek assistance and make connections at the Princeton Public Library’s series of Tuesday Networking Breakfasts, being held at 8:30 a.m. on three different dates. The programs are geared to those who are currently unemployed, under-employed or looking to make a career or job change.
Each month will feature a guest speaker and an open discussion time on a relevant topic. Following each session at 10 a.m., there will be time in the Tech Center for the group to use the library’s databases and get assistance with technology.
The first session on Sept. 28 will feature Peter Bromberg, the library’s assistant director, and Janie Hermann, who coordinates programming at the library, talking about services the library has to offer those who are searching for jobs.
On Oct. 19, Dale G. Caldwell, author of the book “School To Work To Success,” will speak about picking the right company to work for. Caldwell is the president and CEO of Tempus Management Consulting LLC and the founder of Residential After-School Program and Work for Peace, Inc.
The Nov. 30 program will feature career coach Fred Ball, who will discuss interview skills and creating the perfect “elevator pitch.” Ball is the author of several books on interviewing and hiring.
All Princeton Public Library programs are free and open to the public. If programs require registration, preference is given to library cardholders. The physically challenged should contact the library at (609) 924-9529 48 hours before any program with questions about special accommodations.
Opinions expressed during programming at Princeton Public Library do not necessarily reflect the views of the library, its staff, trustees or supporters.
The library is in the Sands Library Building at 65 Witherspoon St. in Princeton Borough. Convenient parking is available on neighboring streets and in the borough-operated Spring Street Garage, which is adjacent to the library. For more information about library programs and services, call (609) 924-9529 or visit www.princetonlibrary.org.
