HCHS Exhibition Opening - ‘Trial of the Century’
The Hunterdon County Historical Society invites everyone to explore the chaotic and fascinating history of Flemington during the Lindbergh baby kidnapping trial when it reprises its exhibition opening on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. at the Doric House Museum, 114 Main Street in Flemington. The event will begin with author Jim Davidson’s engaging presentation based upon his book “When the Circus Came to Town.” Then take a docent-led tour of the exhibition, titled “Lindbergh’s Flemington 1935: Businesses, Bars and Boarding Houses.” The exhibition features artifacts that tell the story of the times – including souvenirs, autographs, scrapbooks, and photographs. The event will conclude with a Flemington classic sweet treat, popular back in 1935, that visitors can take home to enjoy. Reservations are required because seating is limited. To reserve your spot, email hunterdonhistoryadm@gmail.com or call HCHS at 908-782-1091. Cost for this program is $10.
