Composting

Terhune Orchards Read and Explore Program is our winter education series, following the popular seasonal Read and Pick Program. Our program is about Composting. We will talk about turning our “garbage” back into soil. Reading stories and looking at compost materials. Each child will make their own compost container to take home.

Preschool Nature Class: Bunny Hop, The Watershed Institute

Let's hop into spring and discover the differences between rabbits and bunnies! Classes generally include a craft, hike, and activity for the week's theme. We spend time outdoors each week, so come dressed in layers and waterproof shoes

This program is intended for children ages 3-5. Younger siblings are welcome to attend with a parent, but we ask that they do not participate in activities.  Adult attendance and preregistration required- walk ins will not be allowed

About the book (from the publisher): Be careful of the story you tell yourself. It might become the one you believe. Destiny cannot count on anyone but herself. Her mother has struggled with addiction for most of Destiny’s life, moving them from town to town, bad boyfriend to bad boyfriend—including a particularly dark period in Texas, where Destiny ended up in a psychiatric hospital. But Destiny’s mother is newly sober and stable. And Destiny is falling in love.

College Admissions for Homeschool and Non-Traditional Applicants, The Learning Cooperatives

The Learning Cooperatives (Princeton, Bucks, Raritan) are hosting a panel of professionals who will help to demystify the process of college admissions for homeschoolers. Our panel includes an admissions officer from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) who knows what colleges look for from homeschoolers and a staff member from Raritan Learning Cooperative who is experienced in preparing homeschooling transcripts and college applications. Bring your questions and concerns!
