Art Making Open House at Princeton Makes

Princeton Makes, the Princeton based Art Cooperative, invites the community to a day dedicated to hands-on art making for all ages on Sunday, March 8, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the new Princeton Makes store in the Princeton Shopping Center. The new store is located between Princeton Nassau Pediatrics and Rita’s. This special event focuses on the joy of creating together. Visitors of all ages are welcome to drop in and explore accessible, engaging art activities designed by Princeton Makes artists. Whether you come as a family, with friends, or on your own, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with materials, try something new, and leave with something you’ve made yourself.

The event is relaxed and welcoming — no experience needed. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to make art. Refreshments will be served, along with large helpings of artistic inspiration and holiday cheer. This event is free and open to the public.

Pruning Demonstration with Reuwai Mount Hanewald, Terhune's

Reuwai Mount Hanewald, Manager of Terhune Orchards, is offering a free pruning class in the orchards on Sunday, March 8- 1:00 pm. The team at Terhune Orchards is often asked for advice on pruning and other cultural practices in the orchards. Reuwai Hanewald will explain how Terhune prunes and answer questions right out in the orchards. She will also discuss new varieties of fruit trees suitable for planting by homeowners and the difference between various rootstocks. The class will be held rain or shine. Terhune Orchards’ own cider and donuts will be served as refreshments.

Signs of Spring Garden Tour, Morven Museum & Garden

Morven’s Horticulturalist Louise Senior will guide visitors through the museum’s grounds and gardens, showcasing signs of early spring. Learn about the tree buds, birds, nests, bugs, and plants that indicate warmer weather and new growth ahead. Louise will also share tidbits about Morven’s historic gardens, sharing how past residents would have prepared for the changing of seasons. This walk will take place outside so please dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes. Your ticket includes access to visit the museum’s exhibitions the day of the event. This program is shine-only. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled and all orders refunded. Notifications about cancellations will be shared via email to the email address you provided with registration.

Princeton History Walking Tour, Historical Society of Princeton

Enjoy a walk around downtown Princeton and the University campus as you learn about historic sites in the area, including Nassau Hall, University Chapel and Palmer Square. Hear some of the classic history and lesser-known stories of Princeton’s diverse past. Tickets are $20. Advance purchase is required; use the form below.
