April 27, 2026
HOPEWELL, NJ – April 24, 2026
Gallery 14 Fine Art Photography adds three new members, Nils Huehnergarth of
Bethlehem, PA, Richard Van Fleet of Pennington, NJ, and Robert Zurfluh of Cranberry,
NJ. The gallery is located at 14 Mercer Street in Hopewell, NJ and is open 11:00am to
4:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays or by appointment by contacting
Nils Huehnergarth's lifelong fascination with photography began in his teenage years,
capturing black-and-white images on a Leica M3. Influenced by the works of Henri
Cartier-Bresson, Yousuf Karsh, and Ansel Adams, Huehnergarth developed an enduring
appreciation for the decisive moment, the expressive portrait, and the grandeur of
natural landscapes. After a long hiatus devoted to family and career, Huehnergarth's passion for
photography was rekindled during his tenure at Nokia, then the world's largest mobile
phone (and camera) company. Immersed once again in the world of cameras and
optics, Huehnergarth found new inspiration to document the world through his own lens.
Extensive travel provided fruitful backdrops for his artistic pursuit. Over the years, he
has photographed in 21 European countries, including Russia, as well as throughout
South and Central America and nearly every U.S. state. His work is part of the permanent
collection in the state capitol building in Trenton, NJ and has been included in museums,
galleries, and corporate headquarters throughout the Northeast.
Nils's work is currently on exhibition at Gallery 14 through May 9, 2026.
Richard Van Fleet has been photographing for over 50 years, growing with the art from
darkrooms to digital. What's stayed constant is his love for capturing light, expression,
and detail in ways that tell a story. He focuses mainly on studio photography, where he
enjoys shaping every aspect of the environment - light, wardrobe, pose, and timing - to bring
out the best in each image. With experience in both film and digital, Richard blends technique with creativity to
produce photographs that feel authentic and engaging. Photography at its core keeps Richard exploring
and sharing stories through images—an ongoing process that continues to inspire him after all these years.
Richard's work will be on exhibition at Gallery 14 from June 20 to July 16, 2026.
Robert Zurfluh views the camera as a bridge between two worlds. Growing up in
1970s Bavaria, his interest in photography was shaped by the American landscapes he
saw in movies—a fascination that eventually led him to move to the United States in
1990. He began his journey shooting film with an entry-level Canon SLR and, with the
transition to digital in 2009, that early curiosity evolved into a lifelong dialogue with his
surroundings. Robert's work is centered on the joy of discovery and the quiet interplay of light and
form. His photograph of a moonrise behind the Statue of Liberty is currently featured in
Terminal A of Newark Liberty International Airport as part of New Jersey's 250th-
anniversary celebration. Beyond the lens, Robert is an educator and an annual photo-tour leader, guiding fellow
enthusiasts through the landscapes of Iceland, Switzerland, and Utah.
Robert's work will be on exhibition at Gallery 14 from October 3 to 25, 2026.
