Empty Bowls - A Ceramics Initiative Fighting Hunger, PDS

Saturday February 28, 2026
3:30 PM - 7:00 PM

The seventh annual PDS Empty Bowls will be held in the Campus Center on Saturday, February 28, from 3:30-7 p.m., immediately following the Upper School Musical matinee, Mean Girls and before the evening performance.

Started in 1990, Empty Bowls is an international initiative to fight hunger, personalized by organizations on a community level. With soup and bread prepared by local restaurants and a handmade bowl (yours to keep!) crafted by students in fourth grade, eighth grade and Upper School, the event serves as both a reminder of the food insecurity faced by over 44 million people in the United States alone and a fundraiser aimed at providing over 30,000 meals to individuals here in Central New Jersey.

Over the past seven Empty Bowls events, the PDS community has been able to provide over 190,000 meals to those in need. Proceeds benefit Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK), Feeding America and The Chubby's Project. PDS is grateful for this year's restaurant sponsors: Aunt Chubby's Luncheonette, The Meeting House, Olives, Rocky Hill Inn and our own Flik Dining. A $25 donation for each guest will be collected at the door.
