Seniors and people with disabilities are warmly welcomed to a free, in?person 90?minute emergency preparedness training at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System on Friday, February 20 at 2:00 pm. The training is provided by the Progressive Center for Independent Living, supported by a grant through the NJ Department of Human Services. Trainers Gerald "Jerry" Carbone, Renee Pfaff, and Bill Donohue will guide participants in building a personalized "Go Kit," creating communication and evacuation plans, identifying community resources, and increasing confidence in navigating unexpected situations. Oh Freedom! was created by New Jersey State Parks, Forests & Historic Sites to introduce visitors to the Black soldiers of the American Revolution. These soldiers played important roles on both sides of the Revolution. Their goal is to share this information with everyone. Join us Friday, Feb. 20, 6:30 p.m. at Hollowbrook Community Center, 320 Hollowbrook Drive, for an informative program and a look at the powerful exhibit. Free.
