Benjamin Carp will discuss his book The Great New York Fire of 1776: A Lost Story of the American Revolution. New York City, the strategic center of the Revolutionary War, was the most important place in North America in 1776. That summer, an unruly rebel army under George Washington repeatedly threatened to burn the city rather than let the British take it. Shortly after the Crown’s forces took New York City, much of it mysteriously burned to the ground.

Join us in-theater for a discussion with Anthony Tobia, MD, Professor of Psychiatry at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. This wicked adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ subversive novel is one of the best horror films of the early 21st century. In his breakout performance, Christian Bale stars as egotistical yuppie Patrick Bateman, an investment banking executive who moonlights as a psychotic serial killer. Director Mary Harron infuses AMERICAN PSYCHO with a perfect blend of dark humor and thrills. Plus, you will never listen to Huey Lewis the same way again. Also starring Reese Witherspoon, Jared Leto, Chloë Sevigny, and Willem Dafoe. Rated R for featuring intense scenes of violence and gore.
