The best in international, national and local short films for 2024 will be screened. 2024 Festival Proceeds to benefit Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army. Festival goers are urged to bring an unwrapped toy/winter weather clothing or both to drop off at the collection site at the festival. 12/16 - “Oppenheimer and Princeton” – Monthly Meeting, The Women’s College Club of Princeton, 1-3pm., Want to learn more about Princeton’s role in J. Robert Oppenheimer’s life and the development of the atomic bomb? This talk showcases the places where Oppenheimer lived and worked in Princeton (some seen in the film), shares stories about the local academics recruited to work on the Manhattan Project, and provides additional context not explored in the movie. 12/20 - Princeton Symphonic Brass Holiday Concert 2024, 7:30pm., The Princeton Symphonic Brass, under the baton of Lawrence Kursar, will hold its annual Classics and Carols Holiday Concert at the Community Middle School Auditorium, 95 Grovers Mill Road, Plainsboro, New Jersey. 12/25 - Washington’s Delaware River Crossing – Christmas Day, 12 -3pm., On Wednesday, December 25th, celebrate the 72nd annual Christmas Day Crossing from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (actual crossing at 1:00 PM). Arrival by 11:30 AM is recommended to secure a good view. Admission is free, thanks to proceeds from the December 8th Crossing and contributions from many generous donors. Both River Crossings are contingent upon safe weather conditions for participants. However, even if conditions do not allow for crossing, guests can still participate in historic ceremonies, speeches, and commemorative colonial-era activities.
